Protecting the
Cabinet Mountains Wilderness
Preserving 94,000 acres of wildlands, wildlife, and clean water in northwestern Montana.
Learn More
Save Our Cabinets is a Montana-based nonprofit working to protect the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness from destructive mining and preserve its wildlife, waters, and wild character.
The Issue
Mining Threats – Proposed mines threaten wilderness, water, and habitat.
Wildlife at Risk – Grizzly bears, lynx, bull trout, and wolverine face habitat loss.
Vanishing Wildlands-Roadless areas and untouched ecosystems are disappearing.
The Place
The Cabinet Mountains are one of the last wild places in Montana—home to alpine lakes, old-growth forests, and rare wildlife. These landscapes are increasingly under threat, but still worth protecting.
